Transportation Ministry, which assists Berea College students who need rides to Blue Grass Airport in Lexington or who need to see medical specialists with practices outside Berea.
Nursing Home Ministry, which involves "The Disciple Singers," who visit local nursing homes regularly.
Student Teacher Ministry, which assists Berea College students who need help in procuring materials needed for their student teaching assignments.
Professions/avocations Ministry, which is composed of people who take time with Berea College and local high school students to explore professions and avocations.
Teddy Bear Ministry, which, at the request of the family court judge, sees to it that all children who go through family court receive a stuffed animal.
2000-2001, in cooperation with the Berea Ministerial Association, First Christian helped to establish thirteen refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
We are involved as fully as possible in the programs of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the worldwide mission of the church. Members of First Christian annually participate in the CROP Walk to help provide food for those in need in our community, and around the world.
Our facilities also house the New Opportunity School for Women, the Berea Food Bank and Bereans United for Utility and Rent Relief (BUURR).
The New Opportunity School For Women provides educational and cultural opportunities for underserved women of Appalachia.
The Food Bank and BUURR are located in the basement of the building housing the sanctuary.
