Berea Faith Community Outreach, Inc., an umbrella organization comprised of more than dozen faith communities, administers Bereans United for Utility and Rent Relief (BUURR), which is housed at First Christian. Local clergy volunteer their time on a rotating basis to interview applicants and to administer funds. This program is supported by donations from churches, organizations and individuals throughout the community. BUURR assisted more than 500 families with utilities and rent in 2004.
